Our Beliefs
We are committed to the provision of high quality public education for all students.
Public education provides a unifying community structure which is inclusive and builds social capital. Our aim is to provide the best possible learning opportunities as a vehicle for achieving individual, state and national economic and life outcomes.
High quality educational outcomes for all students must underpin any curriculum.
All students have a right to access programs designed to meet their needs; the right to participate fully in their (school) curriculum; and to acquire essential skills enabling personal growth and capacity to engage in life-long learning.
We are committed to the provision of high level educational leadership.
This is necessary to ensure that schools continue to provide educational programs which are dynamic and responsive to changing 21st Century needs.
We are committed to ensuring there are adequate and appropriate strategies for supporting maintenance of members’ welfare and wellbeing.
School leadership is a complex, and often lonely role. Opportunities to build networks, support mentoring and coaching opportunities need to be developed and supported.
As a professional organisation the Tasmanian Principals Association has a key role to play in the enactment of educational direction, planning and implementation of policy.
Principals and Assistant Principals provide the key interface between policy and guidelines and practical actioning of these at a local level.
